Tony for Duluth

I live in West Duluth with my wife, Kristi, and our 10 children. We have been raising our family in the Merritt neighborhood for about 14 years now. Our house, built around 1913, has always been in Kristi’s side of the family. Our oldest son, A.J., just completed his Junior year at Denfeld, and with his younger brother, Thomas, will be attending Duluth Central and Lake Superior College next year.  Two others do their schooling through Minnesota Virtual High School.  As a family we have AnJoyed years of activity within the Community from youth hockey (6 kids in one season) and softball, again six this year.  We love walks into the woods through the hillside, have discovered its vantage points and had many adventures.

I have been involved with business management in the Food and Beverage Industry for most of the past 20 plus years.  In Duluth this has been with Perkins, Black Bear Casino and then a delightful 10 years with Chi Chi’s Mexican Restaurant.  Today I have the pleasure of sharing Lake Superior and Northeast Minnesota at Larsmont Cottages, Ledge Rock Grille.  In todays world it is so easy to forget to see and appreciate all that surrounds us.  Having the honor of meeting wonderful people every week coming to the resort to escape the jungle of daily life reminds me how lucky we are to live here.

I often saying that being a Small Business Manager has given me many learning opportunities which I will bring to St. Paul.  From the importance of working together to solve common goals, to listening to our customers, both internal and external, to applying those needs to our services.  Developing relationships, then goals, and then accomplishments inspires more successes.  Together We can pave the way for better tomorrows.

Tony for Duluth FamilyOur family is active in our church, St. Mary, Star of the Sea, where we are known as “the family with all those kids that sits in the front”. We openly shared our journey on CaringBridge.com with a beautiful story of our daughter, Angelica Joy (9/15/2009-2/15/2010), because of whom we coined the phrase, “AnJoy the Moment!” This is our family’s celebration of life.  Our children attend youth group at Lakeside Baptist Church where they have met a wealth of good friends.

Tony for Duluth FamilyOur family stays active in the community through various means.  You may find us along the softball base paths, ringing bells for Salvation Army, selling candy, wrapping gifts in the Miller Mall, among many other activities.  For us, giving back to our Neighborhood is a pleasure that gives us great joy and a great teaching tool as well.  If you want a better Neighborhood become a better neighbor!  With that said, this Spring we joined our Neighborhood Patrol and AnJoyed our initiation ride-along.
